Following Union Minister of State for Planning (Independent Charge) Rao Inderjit Singh’s recent assertions against his own party’s government in Haryana and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during a public meeting in Jhajjar, State BJP chief Subhash Barala said the party high command was seized of the matter and strongly denied the allegations made by the Minister.
Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Barala said he was yet to speak to the Gurugram Lok Sabha MP, but the party high command was aware of the matter.
He added that Mr. Singh was a stalwart BJP leader and strongly supported the party, but vehemently countered the comments made by the Minister on Mr. Khattar and the State government.
Mr. Barala said that the CM was working in a transparent manner and had shown strong political will to eradicate corruption in jobs and transfers.
The Tohana MLA said that several services, such as ration distribution, school admissions and property registration, were put online during BJP rule to eradicate corruption.
On similar comments made by Mr. Singh at a function in Gurugram around a month ago, Mr. Barala said the CM had already responded to it.
Rumours rife
Though Mr. Singh, a Congress turncoat, hitting out at his own party and Mr. Khattar at public platforms twice in less than a month has stoked rumours that he might consider homecoming before the elections due next year, sources close to him said that it seemed unlikely given the current political scenario.
The sources, however, added that Mr. Singh felt sidelined in his own party with the CM apparently giving more importance to Haryana PWD Minister and Badshahpur MLA Rao Narbir Singh.
The tussle between the two leaders is not new and was out in the open during the Mayor elections last year when the BJP, despite having a comfortable majority in the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, lost the post of senior Deputy Mayor to Congress leader Gaje Kablana’s wife Pramlia Gaje Kabalana.
Following the results, party sources had claimed that the MP’s camp played spoilsport and voted in favour of Ms. Kablana to defeat BJP’s Braham Prakash Yadav, who is considered close to the State PWD Minister.
The MP’s camp had, however, denied the charges.
