Gurgaon-Rewari road to be NH

In a meeting held with Haryana Public Works Department Minister Rao Narbir Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced the Gurgaon to Rewari (via Pataudi) Highway as a National Highway .

During the meeting. Mr. Gadkari said the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will bear 75 per cent of the cost for construction of a grade separator or under pass at IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower Chowk and Rajiv Chowk in Gurgaon, while the rest will be borne by the Haryana government.

He also gave directions to expedite the flyover and underpass construction at Hero Honda Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon Highway section of NH-8. Approving Mr. Singh’s demand, Mr. Gadkari also announced that the NHAI will make a 2.5-km elevated road at Badshahpur here. He also announced a four-lane 8-km road connecting Masani and Rewari.

The State has been authorised to complete the portion of the NH-21A four laning project that falls in Haryana. Mr. Singh also demanded that four laning of Rai Malikpur-Narnaul-Mahendragarh-Bhiwani-Kharak section comprising part of NH-148-B and part of NH-709 be started at the earliest.

Haryana PWD Additional Chief Secretary Hardeep Kumar and Haryana PWD Engineer-in-Chief Rakesh Manocha were also present.
