The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday directed the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to inform it about the status of sewage facilities being provided at the Paryavaran Complex.
A Bench headed by NGT judicial member Justice Raghuvendra S. Rathore directed the municipal corporation to furnish an affidavit stating the progress of work carried out.
The Bench, also comprising Justice Satyawan Singh Garbyal, stated: “We are informed by the petitioner that earlier a statement was made on behalf of the SDMC that 70% of the work has been done. According to the petitioner, hardly 30% of the work has been done. The counsel for the SDMC shall file an affidavit of the officer concerned stating whether work has been completed, and if not, how much still remains.”
The green tribunal’s orders came on a plea moved by a city resident Charvi Mehra who had sought directions to stop discharge of sewage from neighbouring houses.
