Government ropes in schools to fight mosquito menace

A list of dos and don’ts to be displayed prominently in schools

May 12, 2018 01:45 am | Updated 01:45 am IST - New Delhi

To prepare for the rainy season that is conducive to the spread of diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria that at times gain “epidemic proportions”, the Delhi government has come out with a list of dos and don’ts for schoolchildren to follow.

Prevention is the best method to control any disease and the heads of all schools will display the dos and don’ts prominently in schools and conduct programmes during assembly or otherwise to sensitise students and teachers to check breeding of mosquitoes in and around their school and homes.

All schools have also been asked to appoint a nodal officer for better coordination in the campaign against vector-borne diseases.
