Glitch hits Red Line services for two hours

Services on the Delhi Metro’s Red Line were affected for nearly two hours on Wednesday due to a technical snag in the Dilshad Garden-Shahdara section of the corridor.

“Due to an OHE [overhead electricity] issue on the Dilshad Garden-Shahdara section, train services were affected. As a result, trains were temporarily run in two separate loops,” said an official of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The approximately 34 km-long Red Line connects Rithala in Delhi to Shahid Sthal (New Bus Adda) in Ghaziabad.

During the ongoing glitch, trains were run on a single line between 12.45 p.m. and 1.45 p.m. officials said.

“The repair work was over at 1.45 p.m. and accordingly normal services were restored,” the official said.
