A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped over the past one year by her father at their house in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar area. Based on a statement by the victim, a case has been registered. The accused is, however, on the run.
The incident came to light when the girl’s mother took her to a hospital, when she complained of stomach ache on Monday.
The doctors treating her confirmed a rape following which the police were informed.
A case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the relevant provision of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) has been registered.
Sources added that the accused has a criminal record and teams have been formed to nab him.
