Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) on Sunday started the online admission process for PhD and MPhil programmes for the academic session 2019-20. The university had already started the process for 33,000 seats across its 11 university schools and 120 affiliated-colleges.

The university has notified 58 combined academic programmes in the admission brochure uploaded on the its website www.ipu.ac.in . Admission to 40 programmes will be made on the basis of Common Entrance Tests (CETs) conducted by the university.

Two new courses

There will be no CET for six programmes — MBA (Weekend), LLM (Weekend), MBA (Disaster Management), MTech (ECE) Weekend, MTech (CSE) Weekend and MTech (Biotechnology). Admission to these programmes will be made on the basis of marks in the last qualifying examinations, work experiences and the performance in the interview. Admission to MTech (Biotechnology) will be given on the basis of GATE score, the university said.

The university said that two new courses, MSc Yoga and BSc Nursing (post basic) are being started from this academic session. The MBA admission will be through CAT 2018 score, MCA through NIMCET score, BA/BBA LLB through CLAT UG score, BTech through JEE main paper 1, postgraduate medical courses through NEET PG 2019 score, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS through NEET UG 2019 score, postgraduate Ayurvedic courses will be through AIAPGET 2019 score.

PhD programme is available in information technology, computer science and engineering, computer applications, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical and automation engineering, management, chemical technology, biotechnology, environment sciences, mathematics, chemistry, physics, English, sociology, law and legal studies, mass communication and education. MPhil programme is available in English, clinical psychology and psychiatric social work.

The online application fee is ₹1,000 + applicable processing charges and taxes. The university has asked students to visit its online portal for full details.
