Two criminals have been arrested for killing a 34-year-old businessman in Geeta Colony after a fight following collision of their vehicles on December 10, the Delhi Police said on Friday.

The arrested have been identified as Aftab and Ramesh, residents of Geeta Colony. The accused were fleeing after robbing a businessman in Shakarpur when the ‘road rage’ incident happened, the police said.

Third accused identified

“There were three persons on two separate two-wheelers. The third accused has been identified and will be apprehended soon,” said DCP (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav, adding: “The motorcycle used by Aftab has been seized. They have confessed to killing Sushil Chouhan in Geeta Colony. The knife used in the murder is yet to be recovered.”

On December 10, Sushil was on his way home in Usmanpur, along with five other friends, when he was stabbed to death by two men on a scooty when his car grazed it. The third assailant was also present on his motorcycle.

During investigation, the police came to know about another trader who was robbed by three men after being attacked with a knife in Shakarpur a few minutes before Sushil was stabbed to death.

The victim of the robbery case was thoroughly examined to get the description of the three assailants.

The description matched with the details given by witnesses of the Geeta Colony incident, said the police.

“The sketches were prepared and it was circulated among informers to get some clue about the suspects. Help was sought from over 40 criminals of the area for matching the description given by the complainants. After receiving a tip-off, the suspects were arrested,” Ms. Yadav said. The accused are criminals and have been previously booked under charges of attempt to murder and robberies, the police said.
