The prime suspect in the murder of a bartender, whose dismembered body was recovered from a refrigerator, has been arrested six days after the crime was committed.

Badal Mandal, a native of West Bengal, was on the run since October 10 allegedly after killing his friend and colleague Vipin Joshi and cutting his body into three pieces and dumping it in the refrigerator at his house in Saidulajab. The body was found by the police on the evening of October 14.

“He (Mandal) was apprehended and brought to Delhi on Friday. He is being interrogated about the motive of the crime,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal.

Teams were sent to Mandal’s possible hideouts including his village.
