Fresh FIR against Himachal cricket body

Hundreds of trees allegedly cut for constructing a hotel for players near stadium

The tiff between the Congress-led State government and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) headed by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Anurag Thakur refuses to die down inside and outside the court.

The State Vigilance Bureau on Friday lodged a fresh first information report against the HPCA claiming that hundreds of trees were cut in Dharamsala when Pavilion, a hotel, was constructed for players near the stadium.

The then forest officials had given an undue favour to the HPCA during the past BJP regime and the land was demarcated simply as grassland and mentioned not having any chir pine trees.
