Four rob man at gunpoint, held

Four persons have been arrested for allegedly robbing a businessman at gunpoint in Rohini’s Begumpur, the police said on Monday.

DCP (Rohini) S.D. Mishra said the accused have been identified as Kamruddin (22), Karan (23), Intkab (22) and Harsh (23).

The incident happened on Saturday night when the complainant, Vishal Kumar, who deals in the sale and purchase of old cars, was returning home in his car after dropping his friend in Begumpur.

“He had stopped for a while when a man approached him and accosted him to his car on the pretext of asking him the route to Sector 24 in Rohini. When the victim sat in his car, the man took out the ignition key and forced Kumar at gunpoint to get out of the vehicle,” the officer said.

Four others, who were hiding with knives in their hands, then came and robbed the man of his mobile phones, wallet containing ATM card, voter card, driving license and other documents and sped off in his car, the police said.

Kamruddin, the prime accused, has 19 criminal cases registered against him, the police said.
