Four persons of a family got injured in a fire that broke out in the jhuggis of south-east Delhi’s New Friends Colony on Tuesday evening. All of them are said to be stable, the police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said that the injured have been identified as Riyazuddin, his wife Shabana, son Riyaan and brother-in-law Ashraf.

“The call was received at 7.20 p.m. regarding a fire in jhuggis in Indira Camp opposite CRRI. They sustained burn injuries due to fire in the tube connecting the cylinder to the gas stove,” he said.

All the injured were rushed to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment from where they were discharged within a few hours, Mr. Biswal said.
