With the arrest of five alleged robbers from the Saddam-Ainul gang by its Special Task Force, the East District police claimed to have solved several cases of armed dacoity and robbery in different parts of the Capital.

The five men were arrested following an encounter in which they allegedly fired at the police party. All the accused are from West Bengal.

Tyagi was constituted and a trap was laid at Taj Sartaj Park. “During the encounter, one of the arrested men Saddam opened fire on police party but Sub Inspector Jai Singh and Head Constable Bhrampal managed to nab five of them,” said Mr. Gurjar.

He added that the arrested men disclosed their involvement in a recent case of dacoity in a house in Mukharji Nagar. “Apart from above, these accused persons disclosed their involvements in several other cases,” he said.
