More than 50 families were rendered homeless after a fire broke out in a Rohingya camp in Haryana’s Nuh on Sunday. No casualties were reported.
The families, at the time of the incident, had gone to the SP’s office for giving their fingerprints.
“It is not known as to how the fire broke out. It could be an accident or a conspiracy,” said Ali Johar, a Rohingya. The families had come to settle at this jhuggi jhopri cluster at Chandeni in May 2012. Ali said that around 250 people were affected and had lost their belongings. He said that arrangements were being made for their lodging and food.
More than a dozen fire tenders were deployed and it took more than two hours to douse the fire.
