Fire breaks out at factory in Mundka

A massive fire broke out in a factory in Outer Delhi’s Mundka on Monday morning, the police said. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said, “The factory did not have No Objection Certificate [NOC] from the department”.

A fire official said the call was received at 11.35 p.m. regarding a fire at a chemical paint factory after which 18 fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire was doused by 3 p.m., the official said, adding that the cooling-off operation went on for a few hours.

The police said a case under relevant sections has been registered and investigation is under way. No arrests have been made so far, they added.

Similar incident

In another incident, a minor fire broke out at a shop in Govindpuri on Monday, the police said. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was doused within an hour.
