A 45-year-old man was shot dead by three men on Monday night in north-west Delhi’s Mahendra Park, the police said on Tuesday. The accused have not been identified yet, they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Aslam Khan said that victim Rajesh Gupta, who resided in Paschim Vihar, was the owner of a factory that manufactures kitchen appliances. He was shot dead by three men, who were on a scooty, around 8 p.m.
“Rajesh had come to meet a friend who owns a factory in the area. He was walking towards his car, when the three arrived. One of them walked towards him and shot at him,” Ms. Khan said.
Rajesh was rushed to a government hospital where he was declared brought dead
The police said that Rajesh’s family do not suspect anyone. “He is survived by his wife and a 10-year-old daughter. The family claimed that he did not have enmity with anyone,” Ms. Khan said.
The police are obtaining and scanning CCTV footage of the area to identify the accused and questioning the victim’s employees to ascertain if personal enmity played a role in the murder. A case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) has been registered against the unidentified men.
