Factory owner killed in fire

A factory owner was killed while two labourers sustained critical injuries after a major fire broke out in the unit in outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri on Tuesday afternoon, the police said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Rajendra Singh Sagar said the deceased, Rajesh Gulati (45), a resident of Mianwali Nagar was the owner of a nail polish manufacturing factory.

The injured men have been identified as labourers Chandan (41) and Lalit Kumar (40).

The police received a call regarding the fire around 4.30 p.m.

Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and all injured persons were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Rajesh succumbed to injuries, while Chandan and Lalit are said to be critical, the police said.

They said Rajesh owned the factory with his father Manoharlal Gulati and was getting welding work done on the premises when the incident happened. The factory had been non-functional since the past few months.
