Exhibition to inspire young minds

May 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Medical students of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), took a unique initiative this weekend to "inspire young students to pursue medical science in the future."

They participated in an exhibition, Catalyst, which comprised preserved human organs such as heart and brain along with some physiology practicals such as Cognitive testing.

The exhibition was attended by Manoj Tiwari, MP and Manan Chaturvedi, founder of ‘Surman’. While students from several Delhi schools attended the exhibition, medical students and doctors of AIIMS spared time to teach them about a range of rare specimens as well as Organ and Blood Donation and Life support techniques.

Shivam Bansal, a fourth-semester MBBS student at AIIMS, explained how students were introduced to some of the intriguing facts about the human body. Chief coordinators of the event Abhinav Singh Verma and Agam Jain highlighted the fact that the funds collected from this exhibition would be donated to an orphanage, Angel’s Home at Chhatarpur, New Delhi, under the NGO ‘Parivartan’ governed by AIIMS Students.
