A 55-year-old e-rickshaw driver was allegedly beaten up by a car driver at Rajouri Garden on Sunday.

According to the police, the e-rickshaw driver, identified as Mishru, was pushing the vehicle to his residence in Tagore Garden, as it had broken down.

When he was crossing a temple in the area, an allegedly speeding Swift Dzire car rammed his e-rickshaw, leaving it damaged.

Mishru confronted the car driver and demanded that he compensate for the damage caused to his vehicle. The car driver stepped out of the vehicle and began verbally abusing Mishru.

The driver allegedly pulled out a hockey stick from his car’s boot and thrashed Mishru. When he threatened to report him to the police, the driver called out his name and address challenging Mishru to file a complaint. Passersby intervened and the accused, later identified as Sahil, fled.
