A grouse that people living in corners of the National Capital Region (NCR) have is that those who like to go for music or dance performances, or visit an art exhibition, have to make a trip all the way to central or south Delhi to do so.
Dwarka, in west Delhi, has a sizeable population that travels to central Delhi to attend cultural programmes as not many shows are hosted in the neighbourhood.
But thanks to Dwarka Collective, a group of Dwarka residents, artists, intellectuals and activists, the subcity is becoming a hub of such activities. Dwarka Collective has started a regular discussion forum, which has already invited 15 artists and intellectuals, among others, for lectures.
With the Delhi International Arts Festival organising events across the city, the Dwarka Collective has now taken the initiative forward to collaborate with the Apeejay School of Management and invite Polish band Mosaik to perform on October 28.
The band will perform from 11a.m. to 12 noon at the Apeejay School of Management in Sector 8, Dwarka.
Mosaik is a five-member troupe that fuses traditional Polish music with the Orient as well as with world music.
The ensemble plays the historical and traditional instruments from different countries.
In Mosaik’s music, a listener will encounter Slavic wildness and melancholy, oriental mystery, sounds from nature and urban chaos, the ancient world order and contemporary eclecticism.
