Dwarka, one of the most sought-after residential sub-cities developed by the DDA in South-West Delhi, will soon become a financial and residential hub with even smarter infrastructure.

Be it the Dwarka Expressway, high-class dwelling units/ studio apartments for senior citizens, e-buses and cycle sharing projects or a smart city, Dwarka is DDA’s focus. If all goes well, it will soon be transformed into a dream destination in Delhi

DDA Vice-Chairman Balvinder Kumar on Friday shared that one of the three smart self-sustainable cities will be coming up in Dwarka.

A financial hub on the lines of one in Mumbai is also being planned in Dwarka Sector 10. “We have been in talks with the commerce and banking ministry. If they declare the identified area as a bounded area, we can invite financial institutions of international level.

The DDA is also constructing 2,000 apartments for senior citizens in Delhi, 800 of which will be in Dwarka.

Besides this, certain major projects to be taken up this year are construction of a diplomatic enclave and socio-cultural centre.

It will also introduce e-buses and cycle sharing projects in Dwarka in keeping with transit-oriented development.

The Dwarka Expressway will connect Dwarka to Gurgaon, thereby increasing circulation space, smooth flow of traffic and faster connectivity.
