Lakhs of Delhi University aspirants will get to know their fate on Friday evening, when the university is expected to announce the first cut-off list for undergraduate courses.

The admission process under the first list will begin on June 24 and continue till June 28. The university is expected to release the second cut-off list on July 1.

Admissions to most courses in DU are merit-based and depend on the scores that aspirants have obtained in their Class XII board examinations.

Applicants who meet the required cut-off need to log in to the undergraduate admission portal and select the college where they wish to take admission.

Document verification

Candidates then need to visit the respective colleges for verification of their documents. After the admission is approved, aspirants can log on to the online admission portal to make the payment for admission.

Aspirants are required to carry their Class X board examination certificate, mark sheets of both Class X and XII, the Class XII provisional certificate, recent character certificate and two passport size self-attested photographs. Applicants under the reserved category are also required to carry their additional certificates.

Document verification will be carried out from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m in morning colleges and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in evening colleges.

Approximately 2.9 lakh students have applied to various courses being offered by the 65-odd colleges affiliated to the university. The total number of undergraduate seats is approximately 55,000, according to DU officials.

St. Stephen’s College declared its cut-off list on June 14 and the interview process of the shortlisted candidates is under way. The highest cut-offs were for Economics and English, which were set at 98.5% for the general category.

“Aspirants can expect the cut-offs in our college to be somewhere in the same range as that of last year,” said G.K. Jha, principal of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College.

The university has announced that the examinations for the entrance-based courses will be held on July 2 and July 9.
