A 35-year-old driver of an earth mover was killed in an accident at a construction site in Pyavali village of Jarcha in Greater Noida. The deceased was monitoring work alongside a river, where cemented pipes were being placed, when one of the machines overturned on the deceased and crushed him to death.

The deceased was identified as Brijesh Kumar (35), a resident of Aligarh district.

The accident happened around 12.30 p.m. on Friday. Nearly 10 labourers were working at the site at the time of the incident. Brijesh was allegedly standing next to an earth mover that was shifting pipes when it tipped and fell on him. He died on the spot,” said Jarcha police station SHO Prabhat Dixit.

Mr. Dixit added that the PCR received a call from a local who had witnessed the incident. By the time the police reached the spot, all workers had fled the spot.
