DoE warns against 12 fake boards operating in city

Says only three boards in city — CBSE, ICSE and NIOS

Stating that there are only three boards relevant for Delhi — CBSE, ICSE and NIOS, the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Tuesday warned against several “fake” education Boards operating in the city.

“The Government of the NCT of Delhi does not have any board of its own and DoE only grants recognition to schools under Delhi School Education Act & Rule, 1973, for regulating the education of government aided/ private unaided recognised schools, and does not grant any ‘recognition’ to any board,” DoE said.

The DoE made public the clarification requests received from people inquiring about 12 different boards, all of which it said were not recognised by it.

Boards named

The boards that have been declared fake are Urdu Education Board, Grameen Mukt Vidhyalayi Shiksha Sansthan, Delhi Board of Secondary Education, The Central Board of Higher Secondary Education, National Open School, Board of Secondary Open Education, Delhi, Higher Secondary Education Board of Delhi, State Council of Senior Secondary Open Education, Delhi Board of Senior Secondary Education, Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, Council of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, and The Central Board of Higher Education, Delhi.

Clarification requests

The clarification requests have come from various places, including the High Commission of Canada, Ministry of Home Affairs, government departments and public sector companies.
