Dip in number of swine flu cases

The number of swine flu cases in the city has registered a sharp dip this week, with five cases testing positive on Saturday. On Friday, the city clocked 19 cases, it was 24 cases on Thursday.

The Capital has reported twelve deaths due to complications arising from swine flu this year and the total number of cases has been recorded at 4,142.

Doctors claim that the swine flu numbers had risen in the country this past season probably due to the conducive weather conditions. “Awareness is key to beat the disease. If you have got symptoms of swine flu one should immediately go to the nearest doctor or hospital. Making the diagnosis and starting the treatment is important,’’ noted Dr. Anil Bansal member of the Delhi Medical Council.

He added that the risk group involves pregnant women, children, the elderly, persons with underlying illnesses like cancer, immunodeficiency.
