DU protests: hundreds march against ABVP

People across Delhi on Saturday conduct a protest march against the violence caused by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members at the Ramjas College a few weeks ago.

Earlier, a series of marches were taken out on the Delhi University campus protesting against the violence.

It's a Citizen's March begin from Mandi House where students across the city have gathered to protest. Students of various universities, members of left parties AISA and SFI, members of DUTA are participants of the march.

"The number of people who have come here is a strong message to the political outfits that universities are not 'shakhas'," says Umar Khalid.

Last week, members of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), led by the ABVP, took out a ‘tiranga march’ from the Ramjas College to the Vivekanand Statue at the Arts faculty.

"I am here because it's about protecting the bare minimum of a democratic society namely freedom of expression and no use of violence," says Yogendra Yadav.
