Delhi govt. to organise Punjabi fest from today

The Delhi government will organise a ‘Punjabi Heritage Festival’ from November 7 to 9 at Central Park in Connaught Place. There will be Punjabi music, dance, poetry, plays, and other cultural programmes at the three-day festival. “We are pleased to present the Punjabi Heritage Festival in a bigger and better avatar. Our government hopes to create an environment of harmony and love through such programmes,” said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

“Keeping in mind the rich tradition of the Punjabi language, there would be a special focus on Punjabi stories and poetry where many well-known performers from around India will come and perform,” an official statement said.

The Delhi government said that the festival is a bid to reach out to more people and help them know the Punjabi culture better, adding that there will be various film screenings and theatre performances.
