The Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDCD) has partnered with industry experts to develop and implement a plan to develop Electronics City in the Capital, which was promised in the recent ‘Rozgar’ budget.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DDCD, Delhi and EPIC Electronics Product Foundation today to attract investment and jobs associated with the design, manufacturing, sale and after-sales services of electronic equipment in the city, a government official said.
The Delhi Electronics City initiative will help to boost design, manufacture, sales and service of electronics to feed domestic as well as global demand by partnering with national and international expert industry organisations, said Jasmine Shah, DDCD Vice-Chairman.
“Efforts undertaken towards skilling of the workforce in these areas will help improve employment outcomes for workers in Delhi, especially for women, and create service capability in every part of Delhi,” Mr. Shah added.
