A day after Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Virk and Joint Commissioner of Police Bharti Arora levelled allegations against each other over a case of alleged rape, the victim in the case has slapped a defamation notice on Ms. Bharti for making derogatory remarks against her.

According to the legal notice, a statement was published in a Hindi newspaper and some other dailies attributed to Ms. Bharti alleging that Mr. Virk had “intimate” relations with the victim and was shown as breaking news in the electronic media. Meanwhile, the Haryana Government has asked K. P. Singh IPS Director General (Crime) to enquire into the allegations made by the two officers and also to conduct all future investigations into the related four cases.
