A Delhi court on Thursday framed charges and sent on trial BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa and others in a criminal defamation case filed by Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal framed the charges and fixed July 17 as the date for recording of Mr. Jain’s evidence.

In his complaint filed in 2017, Mr. Jain accused Mr. Sirsa of defaming him at a press meet by alleging that he was circulating huge amount of illegal money within AAP. Mr. Jain also accused a Hindi daily of publishing the libellous statements made by Mr. Sirsa.
