The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) will launch a 13-day padayatra , across the Capital, starting on Sunday to create awareness on issues related to women safety and security.

“The purpose is to spread awareness and take services of the commission to the doorsteps of the communities, resolve issues on the spot, wherever possible and to involve the people of Delhi in making the Capital a safer place for women and girls,” the DCW said in a statement.

A pilot programme called ‘Mahila Suraksha Dal’, involving civil defence volunteers, will also be launched during this period, it said.

The march will start from Rajghat at 9.30 a.m. and move towards Shakarpur via the ITO bridge and Vikas Marg, on the first day.
