Following complaints by AAP Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti regarding buildings in south Delhi developing cracks due to vibrations of metro trains, the DMRC has replied in an action report, that they are working on multiple fronts to solve the issue.

“In stretches, where complaints of noise and vibrations were received, train fastening system has been changed resulting in an appreciable reduction in vibration in the locality,” DMRC said.

But the AAP MLA said citizens were not happy with the measures taken by the DMRC. “We have been complaining about it for a long time but the DMRC has been giving different excuses,” the MLA said.

“People are experiencing tremors from the underground metro trains in Hauz Khas, Shivalik, Begupur and other areas and houses have developed cracks due to it,” he added. The DMRC also said 50% of trains working in yellow line have already undergone the re-profiling process. “Remaining trains are expected to be completed in the next three months,” the report read.
