The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday trained its guns on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over a notice by the Lokayukta to Minister Satyendar Jain and another court directive to the Delhi Police to file an FIR against one of its legislators.

The party’s State chief Manoj Tiwari said the “corrupt face of [the] Arvind Kejriwal Government” stood exposed before the people of Delhi after a notice by the Delhi Lokayukta to Mr. Jain in a matter related to hawala and benami transactions.

FIR against MLA

Also, the notice was sent to another a court’s directive to file an FIR against MLA Fateh Singh, who is Chairman of the Trans Yamuna Area Development Board, in related to an allegedly bogus academic degree.

“The Lokayukta, in its detailed order, has prima facie found Minister Satyendar Jain guilty of possessing assets more than his known source of income...the order said that a case under Section 2 (B) & Section 7 of the Lokayukta Act, 1995 stands made out against him and a notice be issued to the Minister seeking explanation as to why a case not be registered against him for hawala and benami transactions,” he said.

Similarly, Mr. Tiwari said, an east Delhi court had directed the Nand Nagri police Station to lodge an FIR against MLA Fateh Singh and hold an investigation in the matter of a complaint where it has alleged that his degree is bogus.

‘Evaded proceedings’

“It is pertinent to mention that to the best of our knowledge during last three years the court gave several opportunities to present his case to the MLA but he has evaded the court’s proceedings,” he alleged.

If the Chief Minister has “any respect” for the Lokpal or Lokayukta, Mr. Kejriwal “should immediately dismiss Satyender Jain” from the Council of Ministers and similarly suspend Mr. Singh from the Vikas Board and Vidhan Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party chief said.
