Congress attacks BJP, AAP over sealing drive

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Ajay Maken on Sunday said the “illegal sealing of non-polluting industries in the Capital will prove to be the Waterloo of both the BJP and the AAP”.

Mr. Maken, who recently came back after a visit abroad for medical check-up, returned to party work with a fresh attack at the BJP and the AAP on the sealing issue. Addressing thousands of villagers at a “mahapanchayat” at Rangpuri in south Delhi, Mr. Maken said: “Till an Ordinance is brought to give relief to the people affected by illegal sealing, the Delhi Congress will continue its ‘Nyay Yudh’.”

The villagers, taking a pledge at the Mahapanchayat, passed a resolution which said that if the Central Government did not issue an Ordinance to end the illegal sealing, the villagers will start a “Rastha Roko Agitation” and will not back out from taking strong steps like sealing all the borders of Delhi.

Reacting to the BJP’s Poorvanchal Mahakumbh at Ramlila Maidan, Mr. Maken said the BJP was the enemy of Poorvanchalis, which has been proved from the fact that Poorvanchalis were fleeing Delhi in hordes following illegal sealing.

On the sidelines of his rally, Mr. Maken said: “I had informed the party leadership about my ailment and that I am not 100% fit. I will abide by the decision made by the party and keep fighting for issues in Delhi as much as my health permits.”
