CM says ‘action’ within purview of GNCT Act

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has in a letter to the Union Home Ministry asserted that his Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar was only given additional charge of the Home Department.

Mr. Kejriwal added that his government was well within its rights to make such decisions as per the provisions of the GNCT Act. Questioning the MHA’s decision to reinstate as Home Secretary senior IAS officer Dharam Pal, who was removed as Home Secretary by the AAP government on Tuesday and repatriated to the Centre, sources said Mr. Kejriwal asserted that the authority “to declare any transfer order null and void rests with the judiciary”.
