CM has locked himself in Bigg Boss house: BJP

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had “locked himself up” in a reality television show situation, leaving the capital to fend for itself in the face of a water crisis, BJP leaders, who are staging a sit-in outside the CM’s office, said in a statement on Saturday.

BJP MP Parvesh Verma, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, and others including suspended Aam Aadmi Party legislator Kapil Mishra have been protesting outside the office for four days, going on a hunger strike for the last two as senior AAP ministers have done at the Raj Niwas.

“CM Kejriwal has locked himself in Big-Boss house for last 5 days and is totally unaware of the pain and difficulties being faced by the people of Delhi. The people of Delhi are suffering in hot summer month of June in 44 degree temperature due to shortage of drinking water and power cuts,” they said in a statement.

During summer, Delhi needs 1,150 to 1,200 million gallons per day of water but people of Delhi are, the leaders alleged, presently getting less than 870 MGD.

The Kejriwal government, they alleged further, has failed to supply drinking water, specially to unauthorised colonies all over Delhi. While murders were being committed over potable water, Health Minister Satyendar Jain was gaining weight during his sit-in hunger strike, they said referring to a case where a man was killed over a water connection in Sangam Vihar on Friday.

“People in the Capital are getting murdered in fights over water... meanwhile the AAP government’s hypocritical leaders are even gaining weight while on this purported hunger strike,” the leaders said further.
