In an attempt to capture the history of art and culture with some of India’s most celebrated artists, The Claridges Hotel has launched the Crayon Art Gallery. The gallery, in association with Amit Vadhera and Gaurav Karan of Crayon Art Capital, will seek to showcase talents from all parts of the country and will include works by M.F. Husain, Anjolie Ela Menon, F.N. Souza, S.H. Raza, A. Ramachandran, Jamini Roy, Krishen Khanna, Laxma Goud, Satish Gujral, Thota Vaikuntam and Paramjit Singh, among others.
The art works will be spread over the entire property. The collection comes together in a Coffee Table Book, ‘Art at The Claridges’ that was unveiled recently.
General Manager of the hotel, Atul Lall, said that the The Claridges was proud to finally welcome some of the greatest artists and their works with the opening of ‘Crayon Art Gallery’.
“Luxury has always had a subtle but longstanding history with art, and with a location steeped in history, The Claridges, New Delhi’s association with the same is but a natural extension. In the near future, we intend to plan art openings, art shows and events and even art walks. We look at this as only the beginning of a treasured association with art in all its forms,” Lall said.
