CBSE felicitates three students

Three students from CBSE-affiliated schools were felicitated here with the Lakshman Singh Kothari and Dr. Srijata Das memorial awards 2014 on Thursday. The awards were presented by Department of Personnel and Training Secretary Sanjay Kothari.

Sarthak Aggarwal from DPS Vasant Kunj received both the awards for securing highest marks in all subjects and 100 per cent marks in mathematics. The Dr. Srijata Das Memorial Award for Excellence in Mathematics was presented to G. Hari Shankar from Air Force Bal Bharati in New Delhi and R. Sreela from Rajagiri Public School in Ernakulam, Kerala.

The CBSE, in collaboration with the Sanjay Kothari Family Charitable Trust, has instituted the Lakshman Singh Kothari Memorial Award for a student who secures maximum marks in five subjects taken together in the Class XII examination. The second award, for three students who secure 100 per cent marks in mathematics, has been instituted by the Board in memory of former CBSE Education Officer Dr. Srijata Das.

Both awards include a cash reward of Rs.10,000 each.
