Delhi Police ranks one
Meanwhile, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has ranked the Delhi Police as number one in uploading data on Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) consecutively for the third time in the past three months.
“In the report released by NCRB for November, the Delhi Police topped the rank followed by Maharashtra police. The Madhya Pradesh police secured the third position. The Delhi Police has topped the same in September and October also,” said an officer.
He added that the Delhi Police updates the CCTNS in real time. During scrutiny, the NCRB found that the data of crimes, criminals, FIRs were all updated online as compared to other States.
The police said with the objective of proper implementation of CCTNS in all police stations in Delhi, a CCTNS core team for each district has been formed to deal with day to day CCTNS related issues and resolve them immediately.
“The data entered in the CCTNS is checked thoroughly before updating the system under the supervision of a senior officer. We organise regular workshops for the staff handling the CCTNS,” added the police officer.
Recently, the Delhi Police has become first in the country to have digitalised malkhana in police stations of its all districts.
