Cable operator shot by motorbike-borne men

A 38-year-old cable operator was shot dead in north-east Delhi’s Dayalpur on Thursday night by motorbike- borne men, the police said on Friday. They have apprehended two persons in connection with the case.

DCP (North-East) Atul Kumar Thakur said the victim, Subhash Rawat, was on his way home along with an associate when the incident happened. “We received a PCR call around 9.45 a.m. in which the caller said his associate has been shot at by two motorbike-borne men and he was taking him to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital,” Mr. Thakur said.

When the police reached the hospital, the victim had already been declared dead.

Personal enmity

“Preliminary probe points to personal enmity. Local cable network rivalry can be the reason but the police are working on the case,” said a senior officer.
