The police on Thursday released sketches of three men who they suspect is involved in the murder of a a 34-year-old businessman on Monday. The victim was stabbed to death allegedly in a road rage in east Delhi’s Geeta Colony.

The portraits of the suspects with their basic identification details are being pasted in various areas in east Delhi.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said the portraits were made by sketch artists using the physical descriptions of the suspects provided by the five persons, including three women, who were in the car, which victim Sushil Chauhan was driving at the time of the incident.

Two of the three men, whose portraits have been made, have cut marks on their cheek. One has a deep cut mark on his right cheek just below the eye and was clean-shaven. The other with a cut mark on his left cheek had beard and moustache. The third suspect also had beard and moustache.

“All three men belong to the age group of 25 to 30. The one who stabbed Chauhan in his thigh was riding a maroon scooter,” said Ms. Yadav.

A resident of Usmanpur in northeast Delhi, Chauhan was driving home with his cousin Ashwani, friend Kartik, and three other women after having dinner at a restaurant in Krishna Nagar on Monday. A scooter grazed their car around 11.30 p.m. Chauhan and the rider of the scooter stopped and an argued ensued between the two, after which the rider allegedly stabbed Chauhan in his left thigh. The victim died of excessive bleeding.

Meanwhile, in another incident of road rage that happened on Sunday night at Acharya Niketan in east Delhi, the police have zeroed in on suspects.

“We have got significant inputs about the accused involved in the murder case of the 21-year-old youth at Acharya Niketan in a road rage case,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Pankaj Singh.

Yogesh Singh Dedha, a resident of Chilla, was shot dead by car-borne men after their car grazed him outside a convenience store at Acharya Niketan on Sunday.
