BSES Rajdhani told to pay solatium

A district consumer disputes redressal forum here has directed BSES Rajdhani to compensate a complainant by paying over ₹10,000 after it was alleged that fluctuation in the electricity voltage damaged electronic appliances at his residence.

Holding BSES deficient in services, the consumer panel said, “From the facts [present], the fluctuation in the voltage or supply of high-voltage current in the locality vulnerable to cause damages to the electrical appliances cannot be ruled out. We award a sum of ₹6,800 for repair of appliances besides compensation of ₹5,000 for harassment and cost of litigation.”
