A 17-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by two minors in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala on Friday night. The incident came to light after an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) who lives in the area was informed by his son about the incident.
Found tied to a chair
Jatin, a Class XI student at a government school and a resident of Ladpur, was found tied to a chair with his throat slit in an abandoned flat in the area. The police were informed by ASI Chela Ram, whose son Satyavan told him about the incident.
“The two minors allegedly bumped into Satyavan after committing the crime and asked for money to flee the city. They said they had made a mistake. Satyavan, who told them that he had no money, informed his father,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Virendra Singh Meena told The Hindu .
According to the police, Jatin’s father Rajesh told them that he had gone out with his friends on Thursday evening. Later that night, the family launched a search for him after he didn’t return till late. They then approached the police to file a missing report.
It was around midnight that the ASI informed the police and the family identified the body.
Minors absconding
The flat where Jatin was found dead belongs to the father of one of the accused. “It seems his throat was slit with a sharp weapon,” said the officer.
The minors, meanwhile, are yet to be arrested. “We asked Jatin’s family, but they have no clue. The parents of the two minors are being questioned, but they too don’t have answers,” said Mr. Meena, adding that were searching all possible hideouts.
