At a time when social media and integrated communication technologies are being used to reach out to voters, the BJP will take to a more traditional medium of street plays to woo voters. The party is likely to start the plays from January 12 in all fourteen districts. Through them, participants will apprise voters about the works done by the Narendra Modi-led government.
The BJP is conducting auditions these days to rope in artistes for performing the street plays. “Not everyone may have the time or means to watch televisions or surf the internet. Through the street plays, we have set a target of reaching out to over 50 lakh voters,” said Gajendra Solanki, a renowned poet and in-charge of BJP’s traditional campaign committee.
According to the party, 14 groups will be prepared to perform in all the fourteen districts of the city. The plays will continue till the elections.
The party will also hold poetry recitation to woo voters. “We will be doing positive campaigning for the party. We have also plans to campaign through poetry recitation,” Solanki said. – PTI
