The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will begin a door-to-door campaign to make voters aware of the public welfare schemes implemented by the Narendra Modi government, especially for the women, the party announced on Tuesday.
Party’s Kamal Jyoti Abhiyan which will be initiated on February 26 will see BJP workers visiting homes of people and lighting a ‘Kamal Jyoti’ in the house of beneficiaries, BJP national Mahila Morcha president Vijaya Rahatkar said.
Women- centred
“The BJP is committed for the total development of women with its motto of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas . The promises made by Delhi government on schools and hospitals have proven to be hollow and Delhi government has failed to carry out development works,” Ms. Rahatkar said.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a law on Triple Talaq to empower the Muslim women. On one hand the BJP is working with good intentions and for right development, on the other hand opposition parties are forming alliance which is like Mahamilawat ,” Ms. Rahatkar argued.
According to Ms. Rahatkar, on February 26, the abhiyan will be initiated and will see workers visiting every booth not only to light a ‘Kamal Jyoti’ in the house of beneficiaries but also to talk about the achievements of the Modi government.
The Modi government, Ms. Rahatkar said, had, by constructing 9 crore toilets, ensured a “respectable life to the sisters and mothers of the country” while under the Mudra Loan Scheme, 13 crore people were given a loan out of which 75% beneficiaries were women.
“The Congress governments only made promises for the security of the women but did not do anything for them. Under POSCO law, stringent provisions of capital punishment has been made for crime against minor children,” Ms. Rahatkar added.
