Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Tuesday’s results of State Assembly elections, in which the BJP was trailing, marked the beginning of the end for PM Narendra Modi’s rule.

‘Countdown started’

In a tweet in Hindi, Mr. Kejriwal said the countdown for Mr. Modi’s rule had started. The BJP was trailing the Congress in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh — States where it was in power. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said in a tweet that the election results showed that acchhe din (good days), which the BJP had promised, would never come and that those who had lied would be bid farewell soon, referring to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
