Another resolution to change titles of SDMC staff

After the title of safai karamcharis, employed with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, was changed to ‘swachhata sainiks’ following a House resolution, the Standing Committee on Tuesday resolved to change titles of other staff in the Department of Environment Management Services as well.

The resolution stated that changing the name of the safai karamcharis had brought self-confidence and belief, which had in turn increased their capacity to work.

Accordingly, the resolution proposed a change in the titles which would be in line with the name of the department, it added.

Once implemented, sanitary guides will be called environment guides; assistant cleanliness inspectors will be called assistant environment inspectors; cleanliness inspectors will be environment inspectors, chief cleanliness inspectors will become chief environment inspectors; cleanliness superintendents will become assistant director, environment; and assistant cleanliness officer will be deputy director, environment, the resolution proposed.
