Ambedkar University Delhi on Thursday announced that the AUD Centre for Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ACIIE) is launching a three-month long Social Start-up Leadership Certificate Programme (SSLP).

Successful businesses

SSLP is an intensive capacity development programme to prepare young individuals for social entrepreneurship and will help co-create successful businesses, the university said.

ACIIE is starting a new cohort of SSLP from June 1 that gives an opportunity to learn from subject matter experts, network of people in the industry and also an opportunity for start-ups to raise funds from ACIIE or outside, the university said.

‘Transform ideas’

“ACIIE is inviting applications from entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, students and small and medium business owners who would like to learn how to transform ideas to business ventures as well as to solve their existing business challenges using different tools,” said the university.

Giving an example of a student Namrata Acharya who did two-month programme at ACIIE, the university said that the programme provided her individualised inputs and mentoring, practical and field based training.

Through design thinking tools and from critical training and feedback sessions from both in-house and industry experts during SSLP, she gained confidence to build a business idea that marries commerce with social impact. ACIIE invested in her venture with initial seed capital and helped her to kick-start her journey as a social entrepreneur,” the university said.

An orientation programme on SSLP -2019 will be organised on April 27 at Ambedkar University Delhi, Kashmere Gate to give students a better understanding about the programme.
