Alumnus donates ₹5 cr to DTU for building hall

Varsity decides to name it after him

An alumnus of Delhi Technological University has donated ₹5 crore for the construction of a multipurpose hall at the university that was previously known as the Delhi College of Engineering.

The university said Rajesh K. Soin, an alumnus of 1969 batch of Mechanical Engineering based in the US, donated the amount for the under-construction hall. The varsity has decided to name the hall after Mr. Soin.

“This is for the first time in the history of DCE-DTU; that alum has contributed such a big donation. University has already received more than half of the amount for the construction of Raj Soin Hall as per MoU agreement,” said DTU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh.

DTU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lather thanked Mr. Soni for his contributions and said that the hall would help in creating a new atmosphere in the campus and would strengthen the relationship between alumni and the university.
