Alliance talks: Goel corners AAP, Congress

As reports of AAP-Congress alliance in the Capital continued to do the rounds, Union Minister Vijay Goel on Tuesday sought to corner both parties.

He asked if Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would withdraw charges of corruption against Sheila Dikshit or will she resign from her position.

In 2013, Mr. Goel argued, Mr. Kejriwal had vowed that he will put her behind bars within 24 hours of getting elected alleging she was “smeared with the colours of corruption” related to Commonwealth Games, water tankers scam among others.

‘Unholy alliance’

“It is ironical that Ms. Dikshit herself is the Delhi Pradesh Congress President and under her leadership this unholy alliance is getting formed. I wanted to ask whether Mr. Kejriwal will withdraw his serious charges of corruption against her or will she resign from her position,” Mr. Goel said.
